Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Noble Eagle. He served as a Reservist, a National Guardsman, and on Active Duty throughout his career and understand both the challenges and rewards to each of the components. His military decorations and awards include the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Navy/Marine Corps Combat Action Ribbon, Meritorious Service Medal, and Bronze Star Medal. After retiring from active duty in 2016, he became a contractor with intelligence programs in both Iraq and Afghanistan; followed by Fort Meade, MD and Fort Indiantown Gap, PA. He has lived in south central Pennsylvania since 2011. He is passionate in accomplishing tasks and creating logical solutions, with efficient use of resources.

John Ricker spent over 25 years in the military having joined the U.S. Navy right out of high school. After nearly a decade as a Marine Propulsion Engineer, he changed services and joined the U.S. Army as an Infantryman, followed by a final move into the intelligence field. He deployed seven times in his career, and as an Arabic linguist, all but one deployment were to the Middle East. The operations in which he participated include Operation Desert
